Board of Directors 2025-2026 Nominations

The Southwestern Illinois Board of REALTORS® is now accepting applications for open leadership positions on the 2025–2026 Board of Directors. There are three positions available: two Director seats serving a three-year term (2025–2028) and one Vice President seat. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role and help shape the future of our association.

Applications will be accepted from July 1, 2025, through July 18 2025.

The Candidate will Commit to:

  • Promoting the REALTOR® Association’s mission.
  • Empowering the success of REALTORS® and Affiliates
  • Advocating for private property rights in Southwestern Illinois.
  • Being open to new ideas and concepts.
  • Having the leadership ability to influence the establishment of goals and objectives of the Association and is persistent in carrying forth ideas and directions.
  • Possesses a knowledge and understanding of the Association’s programs and initiatives and can counsel the committees and members regarding SIBR’s programs, policies, priorities, objectives, goals, and organizational structure.
  • Attending required monthly Board of Directors meetings and Association events.
  • Understanding your fiduciary duty as a representative of SIBR over your own personal or company’s interests.
  • Representing the association at state and national association events.

 

The Duties of a SIBR Director are as Follows:

  • Help develop and implement the Strategic Plan
  • Be the Board’s advocate on all decisions for the membership
  • Be familiar with SIBR Bylaws and Policies, NAR Bylaws and Policies, and Illinois REALTORS® Bylaws and Policies.
  •  Place the needs of the Association above the direct interests of individual businesses.
  • Attend SIBR Board Meetings, Annual Meetings, and all events possible
  • Prior to each Board of Directors meeting, thoroughly review all meeting materials, including agendas, financial documents, and any other relevant information provided in advance. If anything is unclear, ask the CEO for clarification before the meeting.
  • Follow all Fiduciary Duties
  • Attend the Annual Board of Director training
  • Keep all sensitive information confidential.

 

The Duties of a Vice President:

  • The Vice President will automatically take the office of President-Elect immediately following their term serving as Vice President.
  • Help Develop and implement the Strategic Plan.
  • Be the Board's advocate on all decisions for the membership
  • Be familiar with SIBR Bylaws and Policies, NAR Bylaws and Policies, and IR Bylaws and Policies.
  • Place the needs of the Association above the direct interests of individual businesses.
  • Attend SIBR Board Meetings, Annual Meetings, and all events possible
  • Serve on the Executive Committee
  • Attend New Member Orientation
  • Prior to each Board of Directors meeting, thoroughly review all meeting materials, including agendas, financial documents, and any other relevant information provided in advance. If anything is unclear, reach out to the CEO for clarification before the meeting.
  • Follow all Fiduciary Duties
  • Check signatory

 

All applicants should know that the Board of Directors meetings are on the 3rd Thursday of every month. We ask that all candidates confirm that they can regularly attend these meetings.
