Leadership Academy
The Southwestern Illinois Board of REALTORS® Leadership Academy is a program designed to identify, inspire, and empower the next generation of leaders in our association and the real estate industry. This initiative offers participants a unique opportunity to engage in interactive workshops, gain behind-the-scenes insight into the mission and operations of SIBR, and develop key leadership skills alongside fellow REALTORS®. Whether you're looking to deepen your involvement or prepare for future leadership roles, the SIBR Leadership Academy is your gateway to growth, connection, and lasting impact.
Applications for the 2027 Leadership Academy Class will be open on September 15th 2026, and October 6th at 4:00 pm.
Leadership Academy Application Timeline:
September 15 — Applications Open
- Applications open to eligible SIBR REALTOR® and Affiliate members.
- Application materials will be available on the SIBR website.
September 15 - October 6 — Application Period
- Completed applications are due by October 6.
- A $100 application deposit is required and must be received by the deadline for an application to be considered complete.
- The deposit will be applied toward the program’s total $300 tuition if selected.
- Applicants who are not selected will receive a refund of their $100 deposit.
October 15 — Applicant Interviews
- Qualified applicants will participate in an interview with the SIBR Nominating Committee.
- Interview scheduling information will be provided after the application period closes.
October 26 – 27 — Applicant Notifications
- Applicants will be notified of their selection status.
- Selected participants will receive the program schedule, Participant Handbook and attendance expectations.
- The remaining $200 tuition will be due within 30 days of acceptance.
November 2 — Leadership Academy Class Announced
- The incoming Leadership Academy Class of 2027 will be officially announced to the SIBR membership.
- The 2027 Leadership Academy year officially begins, with students starting their event attendance requirements.

Session: SIBR 101 / Core Standards

Overview: Gain insight into SIBR’s mission, structure, and the Core Standards that guide our work. This session lays the foundation for your leadership journey. Will also include an introduction to the community project.

Overview: Learn the fundamentals of Robert’s Rules of Order and effective board governance.
