Board of Directors 2026-2027 Nominations

The Southwestern Illinois Board of REALTORS® is now accepting applications for open leadership positions on the 2026–2027 Board of Directors.

There are six positions available: four Director seats serving three-year terms (2025–2028), one Vice President seat, and one Affiliate Director seat. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role and help shape the future of our association.

What to Expect: SIBR Board Leadership & Election Process

Applications are CLOSED for the 2026/2027 Leadership Year

SIBR Election Timeline:

For a timeline of key dates associated with the election process, please see the table below:

July 1 – July 22, 2026Accepting Applications for open Director positions. Eligible Directors may also submit applications for Vice President.
July 23 – July 25, 2026Staff reviews applications, verifies eligibility, and schedules candidate interviews.
July 31, 2026Executive Committee conducts interviews with Vice President applicants.
August 13, 2026Nominating Committee conducts interviews with Director applicants.
August 20, 2026Board of Directors elects the Vice President for the 2027 elective year.
August 21 – August 28, 2026Director candidates are notified of the Nominating Committee's decisions. Candidates selected for the slate submit materials for distribution to the membership.
September 9, 2026Nominating Committee Report and slate of candidates distributed to all eligible voting members.
September 16, 2026Final day to submit SIBR Director petition nominations. Petitions must be signed by at least 100 REALTOR® members eligible to vote and filed with the CEO.
September 23, 2026CEO distributes notice of any qualified petition candidates to the membership.
September 30 – October 14, 2026SIBR Election – Online Voting for Candidates. Voting opens at 9:00 a.m. on September 30 and closes at 12:00 p.m. on October 14.
October 15, 2026Election Certification Committee certifies election results.
October 16, 2026Candidates are notified of election results.
October 28, 2026Election results officially announced at the SIBR Annual Meeting and introduction of the 2027 Leadership Team.
October 31, 2026Officer succession occurs. The President-Elect succeeds to President and the Vice President succeeds to President-Elect.
November 1, 2026Newly elected Directors begin their terms and 2027 Officers assume their responsibilities.
